This is one of the most gorgeous things I’ve seen in a while.
There’s a woman whose work I’ve been obsessed with but about whom I haven’t had much of a chance to write. So I might as well just share her work now.
It’s Jane Crisp, and she’s a Cambridgeshire, UK-based woodworker who grabbed me with her handmade true (steam-bent oak, with copper rivets), an object of sculptural, organic, soulful beauty. It’s one I really hadn’t contemplated before, as a non-gardener in drought-stricken California. But I could certainly see using it indoors, a glorious sculpture and vessel.
Yes…and maybe even a series of them.
