Summer Beauty Woes: Dry Hair

It’s post-Memorial Day and the weather is officially warming up, so I think we can confidently welcome summer! Long, hot, sunny, gorgeous days are upon us! I for one am incredibly excited. But with the warmer weather comes some unfortunate beauty woes. First up: dry locks. Is there anything worse? Sun, wind, and salt can turn even the glossiest mane into a straw-like, frizzy mess.

But the solution is simple: high quality, virgin coconut oil! Warm a bit in the microwave, apply to dry hair from root to tip, leave on for as long as you like, and then shampoo! (I am a fan of wrapping my hair in a towel while I’m letting the coconut oil work its magic.) Many people find that they do not need to condition, but I’m kind of a moisture maniac.

Top Picks:

If you are pressed for time and a hair mask is out of the question, apply a few drops of oil to damp ends after you shower. This will help to cut down on frizz, while also conditioning and softening dry hair. A word of caution: do not go overboard. A few drops will work wonders (and a few more will leave you looking like an oily mess)!

Top Pick:

Sayonara sad strands, hello luscious locks!
