Summer Beauty Woes: Body Breakouts

The weather is hot, the sun is shining, and you’re ready to throw on a sexy little dress. I’m right there with you! There is no way I’m letting body acne ruin my summer—and you shouldn’t either. So, here a few tips for keeping breakouts at bay:

First, swap your moisturizing body washes for a charcoal-based soap. These intensely detoxifying soaps will send blemishes packing without stripping your skin. My absolute favorite pick is Remy & Roses Activated Charcoal Soap. (If you’re feeling especially congested, feel free to use this soap on your face as well!)

Next, exfoliate, exfoliate, EXFOLIATE! I am a huge fan of African Botanics Muti Mud Mineral Body Scrub. The red/brown color is unreal and the peppermint essential oil leaves skin feeling amazingly cool and tingly. Plus, the added clays and hematite stone extract easily remove those pesky dead skin cells that lead to unwanted blemishes! Looking for something a little more summery? Smooth on Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin C Body Polish. The scent is out. of. this. world. delicious.

Finally, smooth on a shimmering body oil to accentuate your clear, beautiful skin. I’m a huge fan of May Lindstrom The Good Stuff—the mica in this body oil leaves skin glowing and the magical essential oil blend smells insanely delicious. It’s downright perfect. Another fantastic find is de Mamiel Revitalizing Body Serum. It combines tried and true mica with exotic carrier oils like kukui, marula, prickly pear, and baobab. Yum!
