The American Craft Council celebrates its 37th annual San Francisco show at Fort Mason Center on August 3-5. More than 230 of the country’s finest contemporary craft artists come together to strut their stuff … and Handful of Salt will be there, too, strutting its stuff: the fabulous PRINT edition, due out in the fall!
In addition to work by some amazing folks (our faves Peggy Loudon, Christina Goodman, Biba Schutz, Raissa Bump, and others) there are five new categories: ʻBride-to-Be,ʼ ʻMenʼs Dept.,ʼ ʻFoodieware,ʼ ʻLocal,ʼ and the new ʻBlue Chipʼ category, (showcasing luxury jewelry and home décor pieces valued at $10,000 or more).
We’re also super excited about the collaboration between ACC and CCA, and some super-looking work from new exhibitors chosen from the ranks of CCA. (Stay tuned for more on that.)
Back by popular demand is the Friday night ʻ$5 After 5ʼ event, with live music and $5 general admission after 5:00 p.m. Also, Balvenie Whiskey, a handcrafted single malt whisky, will be onsite celebrating craftsmanship with regular tastings and an opportunity to view its original documentary: Handmade: A Celebration of American Craftsmanship.
In addition, ACC has been tipping its hat to stylemakers throughout the country, and selected our very own Regina Connell as one of their San Francisco stylemakers, along with (among many others) Ben and Chris Ospital of Modern Appealing Clothing, and the wonderful Lisa Bayne of Artful Home.
So come on by our booth, pick up (or just ogle) some lovely work, and have a nip of the good stuff. Just what the doctor ordered.
